People like a simple solution and finding a "bad guy".
Unity won't go away any time soon. There isn't an alternative at the same level. Godot and GameMaker will grow, but Unity has a solid spot garanteed for the next few years.
In the end, more competition is good. The same way that Unity grew and made Unreal and other big engines change, hopefully Godot and other small engines will have an effect on game developers.
